{"id":899,"date":"2018-09-15T05:00:51","date_gmt":"2018-09-15T10:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wrolf.net\/blog\/?p=899"},"modified":"2018-09-16T11:45:39","modified_gmt":"2018-09-16T16:45:39","slug":"paris-2018-day-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wrolf.net\/blog\/paris-2018-day-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Paris 2018 &#8211; Day 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a day spent in London at the funeral of <a href=\"https:\/\/wrolf.net\/blog\/james-patrick-courtney\/\">my father<\/a>, we turn up in the wee hours of the morning at London Gatwick Airport to pack Patricia off to Brooklyn, for an interview with HBO. We had to rejig schedules to accommodate this last minute request, and it cut a couple of days off Patricia\u2019s time in Paris, but HBO had a set shooting schedule. At least they paid for the car to the airport and the non-cancellable tickets.<\/p>\n<p>I have to wait several hours for my flight to Paris, which I spent writing and snoozing. Landing at 4pm, I manage to pack in a dry martini at the Bar Hemingway in the H\u00f4tel Ritz Paris. <div id=\"attachment_913\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-913\" src=\"https:\/\/wrolf.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/2018-09-14-18.52.54-Bar-Hemingway-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-913\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wrolf.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/2018-09-14-18.52.54-Bar-Hemingway-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.wrolf.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/2018-09-14-18.52.54-Bar-Hemingway.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-913\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bar Hemingway<\/p><\/div>Ernest famously came here for the Ritz\u2019s liberation from the Germans, who had used it as their Gestapo headquarters.
